The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) announced Tuesday’s 18th edition of the Trade Fair International-Gambia (TFGI), promising a broad exhibition featuring over 500 stalls with participants from ECOWAS, Europe, and Asia.
The trade fair, scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 25, 2025, aims to promote innovation and collaboration among businesses in The Gambia and beyond.
GCCI Director Fatou Jallow highlighted TFGI’s significance as a crucial platform for fostering economic growth and entrepreneurial spirit. “This year’s fair is not merely an exhibition but a celebration of the entrepreneurial drive that propels our country’s economy forward,” she stated.
Saul Frazer, Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee, emphasized the importance of supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which constitute over 90% of the Gambian business community. He also noted the previous fair’s success, which drew over a hundred thousand visitors, and expressed anticipation for even higher attendance in 2025. “We expect to host over 500 participants, and all preparations for a successful trade fair are set,” he assured, adding that stall registration would be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, with fees payable at Guaranty Trust Bank.
Africell’s Senior PR and Events Manager, Waka Jagne, reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering economic progress through connectivity and partnerships, highlighting the importance of trade fairs in creating opportunities and driving innovation.
Abdoulie Jallow, Principal Food Inspector at FSQA, stressed the crucial role of hygiene in the food sector, further underscoring the event’s dedication to safe and sustainable business practices.
