The Gambia government reported GMD13.78 billion in revenues for the first half of 2025, a 29% increase from 2024, representing 43% of the GMD32.10 billion annual budget.

Key revenue sources included increased tax collections on profits and capital gains. Government spending totaled GMD14.51 billion, leading to a mid-year deficit of D724.84 million, with main expenses for personnel, subsidies, and domestic interest.

Domestic revenue collections reached 47% of the GMD29.09 billion annual budget. Current expenditure was GMD13.14 billion (46% of the budget) and capital expenditure was GMD1.37 billion (36% of the budget).

Minister Keita plans to reduce the deficit by cutting spending and increasing revenue from grants and programs.
