On September 3, 2025, in Praia, Cabo Verde, The Gambia committed to information integrity at a Regional Conference on Information Integrity in West Africa and the Sahel.

Hon. Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, the Minister of Information, highlighted key initiatives like the Access to Information Act, reforms in data protection and cybersecurity, and digital literacy programs.

He emphasized the need for a regional Model Policy Framework to combat misinformation. He affirmed The Gambia’s commitment to collaborating with regional partners while respecting freedom of expression and human rights.
