Gambia Police Conducted Operations Based on Intelligence and Arrested 43 Suspects for Common Nuisances

On October 9, 2025, KM police detained 43 individuals in Bundung and Serekunda for public disorder, charging 30, referring nine to immigration, and sending two to a psychiatric hospital, aiming to enhance public safety in high-risk areas.

On October 9, 2025, the police in KM, alongside the Police Intervention Unit, detained 43 individuals in Bundung and Serekunda for public disorder.

After screening, 30 were charged under the Criminal Offenses Act, nine were referred to the Gambia Immigration Department, and two were taken to a psychiatric hospital.

One suspect was released for medical reasons, and another escaped. The operation aimed to enhance public safety in high-risk areas, with the police expressing gratitude to supporting security services and urging the public to report suspicious activities.
