The Gambia has signed two agreements with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to enhance its agricultural sector and improve road infrastructure. Minister of Finance Seedy K.M. Keita signed a $3 million loan and a $150,000 grant during the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Algiers.

The loan will help fund the second phase of the “Enhancing Value Addition in the Groundnut Sector Project.” This project aims to enhance the National Food Security Processing and Marketing Corporation’s capabilities, modernize the agricultural value chain, and improve food security.

The grant will support a study to see how to repair and expand the South Bank Road. This road is essential for connecting regions and supporting economic growth.

The study’s results will inform future project plans and funding decisions. Minister Keita emphasized that these agreements show the country’s commitment to attract investments for growth and development.
