Gambia Football Team at Norway Cup

The Gambian Under-19 team, led by Tijan Jaiteh, trains in Oslo for the Norway Cup starting July 26, aiming to shine at the world’s largest youth football festival after their Under-16 win.

The Norway Cup, the largest youth football festival in the world, takes place in Oslo on July 26, hosting 2,183 teams in 2023.

Since 1972, it has included tournaments for players aged 10 to 19. The Gambian team, organized by the Tijan Jaiteh Football Academy and led by Ambassador Tijan Jaiteh, arrived in Oslo for training ahead of competing in the Under-19 category.

Previously, the Gambian team won the Under 16 category two years ago. Ambassador Jaiteh highlighted the event’s importance for showcasing Gambia’s football talent and expressed gratitude to supporters for the team’s participation.

Players are eager to train hard and impress in the tournament.
