Gambia and Indonesia: Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

A Foreign Office Consultation between Indonesia and The Gambia was held in Bali on December 4, 2025, to implement a Memorandum of Understanding for a Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation, signed in 2014.

The meeting, led by H.E. Ms. Dewi Justicia Meidiwaty, the Indonesian Director of African Affairs, and H.E. Lang Yabou, the Gambian Ambassador, centered on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing cooperation in key areas, and addressing regional and international issues.

Both delegations expressed satisfaction with their longstanding partnership and agreed to host the second Joint Commission meeting in Banjul, The Gambia, in 2026. They also committed to fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation and promoting people-to-people connectivity.
