GALGA enhances financial governance by providing new training for local councils.

A three-day workshop focused on improving financial management for local government bodies took place at Tendaba Camp in The Gambia, organized by GALGA with support from the European Union and UNDP.

The training covered budgeting, financial statement creation, and reporting mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of transparency and efficiency in decentralized governance.

It combined theoretical lessons with practical activities, addressing budget discrepancies and financial reporting delays to enhance accountability and public trust. The initiative supports The Gambia’s decentralization and governance reform efforts.
