The Gambia Police Force confirmed the arrest of four officers involved in the pursuit of Omar Badjie on September 28 2025.
They are currently in detention awaiting an independent Coroner’s Inquest. A postmortem examination was completed, and the body was released to the family for burial on October 1, 2025.
The police are committed to a transparent investigation and assure the public that justice will be served, holding anyone at fault accountable. Further updates will follow.
