Former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh accused Senegal in circulated audio of illegally taking oil from Gambian waters.

He claimed that the coalition government, especially Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, is involved in this stealing. Jammeh criticized Senegal’s leaders, calling Macky Sall a “well-known thief.”

He suggested that an agreement made after the coalition government won allowed this theft of Gambian oil. Jammeh warned that if Senegal tries to take over Gambia, they will face strong resistance.

This statement has raised concerns and anger about possible tensions between the two countries. Neither government has responded officially so far.
