Finance Minister signs €20 million EU deal to enhance the education sector.

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Seedy K. M. Keita, signed a 20 million Euros Financing Agreement with the European Union to support the initiative “EU – Support to Improve Secondary Education for the Youth in The Gambia.”

The program aims to enhance senior secondary education by focusing on quality, equity, digital advancements, and gender inclusivity. It also plans to transform Gambia College into a University of Education, improve teacher training, and revise the national curriculum.

Minister Keita expressed gratitude to the EU and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to education and human capital development.
