The Driving Schools Association of The Gambia (DSAG) initiated a project aimed at enhancing road safety by promoting consistent education and ethical practices.
This initiative is called “To unite and empower Gambia driving schools.” Key leaders, including DSAG President Modou Lamin Badjie and police representative Lamin King Colley, emphasized the importance of uniform training for drivers and holding driving schools accountable to help reduce accidents.
Road safety expert Dr. Momodou Gassama suggested referring to “accidents” as “crashes” to emphasize that they can be prevented.
Mayor Ahmed Talib Bensouda and CEO Isatou Dea Sawaneh discussed the importance of ethical behavior, improved road design, and certified driving schools. Omar Ceesay from the Gambia Transport Union promised to support the initiative.
