Bread Prices will Increase Starting July 1st, as Announced by the Gambia Government

Starting July 1, 2025, MOTIE announces bread price increases in The Gambia, with ‘Senfur’ at D12 for 160g and ‘Tapalapa’ at D12 for 190g, enforcing strict compliance and penalties for underweight loaves.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, and Employment (MOTIE) has announced that bread prices will rise starting July 1st, 2025.

The price of ‘Senfur’ bread will go up from D10 to D12 for 160g a loaf. ‘Tapalapa’ bread will increase to D12 for a 190g loaf.

The government will ensure that bakeries adhere to these new prices and weights. Bakeries that sell loaves that are too light may face penalties.
