Angélique Kidjo, a renowned Beninese musician, has made history as the first black African artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Over her 40-year career, she has released 16 albums, blending genres like Afrobeat, jazz, R&B, funk, and Latin music, and has won five Grammy Awards.

Kidjo’s impressive collaborations include artists like Burna Boy and Alicia Keys. Born in Benin, she moved to Paris in 1983 to escape political issues, where she developed her music career.

Her achievements highlight African talent on a global stage.
