Alpha is a talented writer and a student at the University of The Gambia. He recently won a place in the Immerse Education Essay contest in the UK, becoming the first Gambian to achieve this.

As the Assistant Secretary General of the Young Writers Association of The Gambia, he works on critical public issues, particularly the need for quality education.

Although Alpha comes from a low-income background, he is determined to make a mark in Gambian literature. His win included a partial scholarship to study at Cambridge or Oxford, but he could not afford the extra expenses.

He encourages young writers to be dedicated, consistent, and original and to avoid using AI tools.
