African Development Bank, Republic of Congo Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Hosting of 2026 Annual Meetings

The African Development Bank Group and the Republic of Congo will host the 61st AfDB Annual Meetings in Brazzaville in May 2026, strengthening a partnership that has supported $1.27 billion in projects since 1972.

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and the Republic of Congo signed a memorandum of understanding to host the 2026 Annual Meetings in Brazzaville, scheduled for May 2026.

This will be the 61st Annual Meeting for the AfDB and the first under the leadership of Mr. Sidi Ould Tah. The preparation involves logistics, security, accommodations, and transportation.

The Republic of Congo previously hosted the meetings in 1984 and has had a cooperative relationship with the Bank since 1972, with a total project value of $1.27 billion approved.

Currently, the Bank’s active portfolio in the country includes nine projects totaling approximately $223.3 million.
