Bilateral meeting during INTERPOL’s 93rd General Assembly in Marrakech.

On November 27, during the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakech, the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Mukhtar Touray, engaged with a Maltese delegation.

Their discussions focused on fostering cooperation in community policing, policy development, and cybersecurity, to establish a partnership between the Gambia Police Force and Malta. The Maltese delegation expressed keen interest in The Gambia’s community policing practices. At the same time, IGP Touray emphasized the critical role of collaboration in preparation for the 2026 national elections and highlighted the recent establishment of the GPF Cybercrime Unit.

Both parties agreed to formalize communication through their respective Ministries of Interior and to explore collaborative efforts through exchange programs and study visits, committing to a long-term partnership in these key areas.
