Road Safety and Driving Standards Association Officials Visit NHRC.

The Executive Director of the Road Safety and Driving Standards Association, Mr. Pateh Baldeh, along with Administrative Secretary Mr. Njie Baldeh, visited the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to present the Association’s initiatives and explore potential collaboration on road safety and user rights.

Mr. Baldeh underscored the organization’s commitment to reducing road accidents and pointed out the lack of employment security for drivers, many of whom operate without formal contracts. He referenced data from The Gambia Police Force, which reported approximately 775 road accidents annually.

NHRC officials expressed keen interest in collaborating and proposed reviewing the outdated Traffic Act and developing a joint Memorandum of Understanding as an initial step.
