SIS Director and team visit NHRC.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) received Mr. Ousman Sowe, the Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS), along with his delegation during their visit.

They discussed the NHRC’s responsibilities and potential opportunities for collaboration, particularly in providing human rights training for SIS staff. Director Sowe addressed the progress of SIS reforms, including the establishment of the State Intelligence Academy for Security Studies, which is designed to integrate human rights training.

NHRC Chairperson Mr. Emmanuel Daniel Joof commended the SIS reforms, linking them to the TRRC’s recommendations and highlighting the need to restore public confidence in the agency.
