Robert Mugabe Jr., son of Zimbabwe’s former president, has been detained for drug possession after cannabis was found in his bag during a traffic stop in Harare.

He was driving against traffic, and five associates were also arrested with drugs. Mugabe Jr.’s attorney claims the drugs belonged to passengers in another vehicle and disputes the amount seized.

This incident follows his previous legal issues in 2023, and the case has drawn attention due to his family’s complex relationship with the current government, despite his reconciliation with the ruling party in 2022.
