Turkey and Egypt are conducting their first joint naval exercise, “Friendship of the Sea 2025,” in the Eastern Mediterranean after a 13-year hiatus.

The five-day drill showcases military collaboration with assets such as frigates, submarines, helicopters, and F-16s. It includes joint operational planning, surface and anti-submarine warfare, and search and rescue training.

The Egyptian military emphasizes the importance of strengthening relations with Turkey, reflecting a significant shift since the political tensions of 2013.
