The Ehang EH216-S, a pilotless passenger aerial vehicle, completed its first flight in Africa, attended by the Rwandan president and Chinese delegates.

This eVTOL can carry two passengers with a payload of 220 kg, reaching speeds up to 130 km/h and a range of 30 km. It is the first eVTOL to obtain a type certificate, a production license, and an airworthiness certificate.

Africa, which represents 17% of the global population but accounts for less than 5% of air transport, holds significant potential for economic growth in low-altitude travel.
