GPFCCU Earned Over D2.6M Interest in 2023

At its 26th AGM on August 9, 2023, the Gambia Police Force Cooperative Credit Union announced a D40.7M income, reduced interest expenses, a 46.27% rise in cash balances, and a 68% investment portfolio growth, emphasizing financial stability and digital service expansion.

During its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 9, 2023, the Gambia Police Force Cooperative Credit Union (GPFCCU) announced notable improvements in its financial results.

The union’s income increased from D38,092,601 to D40,754,286, while interest expenses decreased from D4,425,965 to D3,406,168. Although the net surplus experienced a slight decline from D2,996,915 to D2,690,316, there was a significant increase in cash and bank balances from D50,953,471 to D74,530,076, reflecting heightened member trust.

The investment portfolio surged by 68% from D64,792,344, although the specific figure for 2024 was not provided. Board Treasurer Ebrima Darboe emphasized the union’s commitment to improving its financial stability and expanding member services, which include digital financial options.

Assistant Inspector General Ebrima Bah stressed the importance of financial independence and proposed training on personal finance for members. The meeting featured a Q&A segment that addressed the concerns of the members.
