Gambia Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy Teamed up with Three Firms to Improve Financial and Postal Services

The Gambia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy partners with Bibimoney UK, GAMPOST, and Nifty ICT Solutions to launch the “Sutura” mobile wallet, enhancing digital financial and postal services while promoting a cashless economy.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in The Gambia, led by Hon. Minister Lamin Jabbi, has formed a strategic partnership with Bibimoney UK, GAMPOST, and Nifty ICT Solutions.

This collaboration aims to enhance access to financial and postal services, support a cashless economy, and empower citizens digitally.

Dr. Abdoulie Sirreh Jallow of GAMPOST emphasized the need for product diversification due to technological advancements.

The initiative will provide technological access, knowledge transfer, and capacity building for GAMPOST staff.

Madam Ida Sarr from the British High Commission supported the promotion of inclusive digital financial services.

Mr. Shiraz Jessa, CEO of Bibimoney UK, introduced “Sutura,” an interoperable mobile wallet for cross-border remittances.

The partnership is poised to have a significant impact on the digital, postal, and financial sectors in The Gambia and will commence implementation immediately.
