National Audit Office Presents Strategic Plan to Inspector General of Police and Accountant General

Auditor General Modou Ceesay collaborated with the Inspector General of Police and Accountant General to advance the National Audit Office’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, focusing on police audit investigations and harmonized financial reporting for public institutions in The Gambia.

Auditor General Modou Ceesay met with the Inspector General of Police and the Accountant General to discuss the National Audit Office’s Strategic Plan for 2025-2029, highlighting the need for collaboration on audit reports related to police investigations.

The IGP expressed support for enhancing the audit investigation process as per the 1997 Constitution.

In a separate meeting, the Accountant General and the NAO focused on harmonizing the financial reporting framework for public institutions.

They agreed to establish a working group to address ongoing financial reporting and audit concerns, emphasizing the importance of regular communication to tackle operational challenges.
