President Trump signed a proclamation to ban travelers and immigrants from 12 countries due to national security concerns, especially after a recent attack in Boulder, Colorado.

The countries affected by the ban are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

There are also restrictions on travelers from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. This ban will start at 12:01 a.m. on June 9, following a security review of high-risk areas by officials.

They considered factors such as the presence of terrorism, visa security cooperation, identity verification, maintaining criminal records, and addressing illegal overstays to inform their decisions.
