Cameroon Soccer Legend Emmanuel Kundé has Died at the Age of 68

Emmanuel Kundé, a prominent figure in Cameroon’s national soccer team, passed away at 68, as announced by the country’s soccer federation.

He is fondly remembered for his significant contribution in helping Cameroon become the first African team to reach the World Cup quarterfinals in 1990, where he scored a vital penalty against England.

Kundé also represented Cameroon in the 1982 World Cup and played a key role in their triumphs in the 1984 and 1988 Africa Cup of Nations.

With over 100 caps for the national team, he is celebrated as a “control tower” and “defensive wall.” He died of cardiac arrest at his home.
