Nigeria has deployed 1,970 troops to the ECOWAS Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG) after their training at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Center.

Major General Uwem Bassey emphasized discipline, fairness, and respect for human dignity while highlighting Nigeria’s history of successful peacekeeping contributions and warning against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

The graduation marked the conclusion of the Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) for the Nigerian Contingent of ECOMIG 10.
