During the discussion, Zelenskyy thanked President Barrow for enabling Ukrainian representatives to participate in the inaugural Peace Summit and for endorsing the Summit’s communiqué. Zelenskyy emphasized the significance of the Peace Formula as a trustworthy framework for fortifying global security, encompassing food security, energy security, and overall security for all nations.

In addition, Zelenskyy and his counterpart deliberated on the vast potential for collaboration between Ukraine and Africa to restore peace and uphold food stability. Zelenskyy underscored the importance of Ukraine remaining a primary champion of food security for both Africa and the world. He also recalled the history of Gambian students studying in Ukraine prior to the full-scale Russian invasion and expressed a keen interest in welcoming them back to secure areas and expanding educational initiatives. This statement aimed to reassure President Barrow of Ukraine’s steadfast support. Zelenskyy also expressed his pleasure in reinstating high-level communication between Ukraine and the Gambia.
