Gambia Confirms the TRRC Status Report, Marking a Significant Step Toward Justice and Reconciliation
On July 17, 2025, stakeholders reviewed the Third Status Report on The Gambia’s TRRC recommendations at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Centre, led by the NHRC, focusing on progress, accountability, and challenges in achieving justice and reparations for victims of past human rights abuses.
Journalists Trained for Sensitive Reporting on TRRC Implementation
The International IDEA, in collaboration with the Gambia Press Union and supported by the EU, organized a two-day workshop to train journalists and editors in conflict-sensitive reporting on the TRRC reports, emphasizing ethical journalism to foster healing, accountability, and reconciliation in Gambian society.
