UK Government Reforms Migrant Appeals System to Reduce Backlog
The UK plans to reform its asylum appeals process with an independent panel to clear a backlog of over 51,000 cases, aiming to resolve appeals within 24 weeks and phase out costly hotel accommodations, amid public protests and a record 110,000 asylum applications by June 2025.
