The Hon. Speaker, Fabakary Tombong Jatta, emphasized The Gambia’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the 7th Inter-Regional Seminar in Beijing.
He highlighted the role of parliaments in implementing the 2030 Agenda and mentioned The Gambia’s alignment of national policies with the SDGs, particularly in areas like poverty, healthcare, and education.
Jatta noted achievements such as universal primary education and improved maternal health but also acknowledged challenges like climate change and limited resources.
He called for increased international cooperation to support developing countries and praised the seminar for fostering teamwork to tackle shared issues.
