Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko criticized powerful countries for ignoring international norms and creating their own rules during an interview at the 2025 Summer Davos in Tianjin.

He specifically pointed out the U.S. for raising tariffs and noted that these countries have historically set rules to benefit themselves.

Sonko emphasized the shift towards a more balanced world order and the importance of initiatives from the Global South, particularly through BRICS, in promoting a fairer, multilateral world.

The Summer Davos Forum gathered over 1,700 influential participants from more than 90 countries to discuss entrepreneurship and technology-driven economies.
