UNESCO-UNEVOC and the University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) are hosting the “Digital TVET Transformation Summit 2025” (DOTS 25) from May 28 to 30, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. This summit will bring together key participants, including the Honorable Ousman Sillah from SASASNET, TVET stakeholders, and international partners, and is supported by the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
Dato’ Sri Ibrahim bin Ahmad, the Chairman of UTHM, emphasized the importance of TVET for economic growth. He called for cooperation between industry leaders and educational institutions to improve skills development. He also noted Malaysia’s aim to be a regional leader in TVET, particularly considering ongoing technological advancements.
Dr. Abdul Rasid bin Abdul Razzaq, the Acting Vice Chancellor of UTHM, emphasized the need to align TVET with national goals during the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Friedrich Huebler from UNESCO-UNEVOC emphasized that TVET must adapt to the digital age to support inclusive and sustainable development. The summit will focus on how TVET can prepare learners for a fast-changing job market.
