Portuguese Woman Arrested for Cocaine Possession at Banjul International Airport

A 51-year-old Portuguese woman, Ramatu Baldeh, was arrested at Banjul International Airport for attempting to smuggle over 200 cocaine pellets, leading to the apprehension of Abdoulia Dembo, who was found with additional pellets during a subsequent investigation.

On September 2nd, Ramatu Baldeh, a 51-year-old Portuguese woman, was apprehended at Banjul International Airport in The Gambia while attempting to board a flight to Lisbon, Portugal, via Casablanca with Royal Air Morocco. She was found in possession of over two hundred pellets of cocaine.

Initially, she was caught with thirty-four pellets of cocaine at the airport. Subsequent investigations led to another individual, Abdoulia Dembo, being arrested at Baraka Estate in Bakoteh on the same day. Dembo was found with two hundred pellets of cocaine concealed in a black school bag. These events were reported by The Gambia’s Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG).
