Demonstrators in France initiated the ‘Block Everything’ movement on Wednesday to protest President Emmanuel Macron’s budget cuts.

The protests resulted in 295 arrests and the deployment of 80,000 police officers. While the demonstrations caused disruptions, they were less intense than past protests, like the yellow vest movement.

In Paris, clashes occurred with law enforcement, who used tear gas. Still, later gatherings became more peaceful, featuring humorous signs aimed at Macron and the newly inaugurated Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
