Ms. Salimatou Jallow appointed as the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia has appointed Ms. Salimatou Jallow as the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs, effective December 2025. She has over 20 years of diplomatic experience, previously serving at the Gambian Embassy in Spain and in the European Affairs Directorate.

Ms. Jallow aims to enhance The Gambia’s partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region and holds a master’s degree in diplomacy and international Relations, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology. She is fluent in multiple languages.
