The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) is conducting a nationwide data verification exercise at public Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in preparation for incorporating the Think Equal programme into the national curriculum.

This initiative focuses on social and emotional learning (SEL), aiming to develop skills like empathy, emotional control, and respect for diversity among young children. The programme will officially launch in public ECD classrooms at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year.

MoBSE, in collaboration with Future In Our Hands, The Gambia (FIOHTG), is providing teacher training and involving communities to ensure effective implementation.

The goal is to improve early learning and nurture emotionally intelligent, socially responsible, and confident learners.

The World Bank Group supports the data verification exercise through the RISE Project.
