The Ministry of Youth and Sports in The Gambia announced a distribution of D8.4 million in July 2025 to support sports associations and teams.
This includes D7 million for the Gambia National Olympic Committee for the African School Games and D1 million for the Gambia Basketball Association for the Zone 2 Afrobasket Championship.
Additional funds were allocated to support the Berewuleng Football Club’s women’s team and to recognize Gambian students who excelled at the Student World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The ministry emphasized its dedication to developing young athletes and promoting sports in The Gambia.
