The Gambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (GICA) removed Paul J. Gaye from his position as president on June 26 due to a lack of confidence in his leadership.
This decision followed an extraordinary general meeting on June 21, at which most members agreed to his removal. The remaining council members will manage the institute’s affairs until an annual general meeting is held within 90 days of the date of this notice.
GICA, established by the Financial Reporting Act of 2013, aims to strengthen the accounting profession in The Gambia by adopting global standards and promoting ethical practices.
