Dr. Demba Sabally, the Minister of Agriculture, toured agricultural project sites in the Lower River Region, focusing on initiatives to enhance agro-processing, crop production, and empower rural communities. Activity areas to include:
Kwinella: The ROOTS Project established a modern tomato processing facility for the Tresor Women Warriors to reduce post-harvest losses and improve food security.
Pakalinding: The ROOTS Project supported a 14-hectare rice field with ploughing services, seeds, and fertilizers, which was well-received by farmer Jalima Ceesay.
Jenoi: The P2-P2RS Project assisted local farmers with ploughing and necessary supplies after a long cultivation hiatus, as noted by Alkalo Kebba Marong.
Dr. Sabally emphasized the importance of sustaining these agricultural initiatives for future generations.
