On September 30, 2025, a delegation from The Gambia Press Union (GPU) met with The Gambia Police Force to strengthen collaboration.
The meeting, led by Assistant Inspector General Mr. Ebrima Bah, emphasized the importance of partnership for public service. GPU President Ms. Isatou Keita discussed the need for ongoing cooperation and highlighted past successful training.
GPU Secretary General Mr. Modou Joof presented an updated Code of Conduct for journalists and called for regular dialogues with the police. Deputy Inspector General Mr. Demba Sowe expressed appreciation for the initiative.
The meeting concluded with plans for practical collaboration, including training police officers in journalistic skills and educating media personnel on safety protocols. Both organizations are committed to enhancing professional cooperation for the Gambian community.
