The Gambia has achieved a significant milestone in peace and stability, ranking 4th most peaceful in Africa after Mauritius, Botswana, and Namibia, and 55th globally in the 2025 Global Peace Index.
Factors contributing to this ranking include low conflict levels, strong community resilience, and low militarization. The Gambia Ministry of Information hailed this as a proud moment for the nation, emphasizing Gambians’ commitment to unity and harmony.
