GACH Global’s philanthropic arm, the Abubakary Jawara Foundation, has generously donated 50 solar streetlights valued at D400,000 to the Sukuta community. This initiative aims to bolster security and reduce crime in response to a request from the residents. The contribution of solar streetlights by GACH Global to the Bakau community holds significant importance for various reasons.

Musa Suso, the former West Coast Region Deputy Governor, highlighted the residents’ positive response, emphasizing the donation’s immediate impact on the community’s well-being and infrastructure. He mentioned that the enhanced lighting can deter crime and improve security, ultimately enhancing community safety. The favorable feedback from the Sukuta community proves the value of the 50 solar streetlights donated by GACH Global’s Abubakary Jawara Foundation.

Emphasizing the importance of community engagement in development, Amadou Manneh, GACH Mining Site Manager, stressed that progress necessitates contributions from all stakeholders, not just the government. He expressed that GACH’s act of corporate social responsibility complements government efforts in local development. Manneh reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting infrastructure improvements alongside government initiatives. Mr. Jawara is highly esteemed in Gambia for his philanthropic endeavors.
