GACH Global Foundation Donates D1M for the Qur’anic Competition

Abubakary Jawara, CEO of GACH Global, recently organized a remarkable D1 million nationwide Qur’anic recitation competition in memory of his late father, Ba-Jaeja Jawara. The contest aimed to promote Qur’anic education among Gambian youth, attracting over 300 participants nationwide. The overall champion was awarded D75,000, while other top reciters also received generous prizes.

The competition commenced a few months ago and occurred across multiple regions, including Kerewan, Janjangbureh, Gambisara, and Mansakonko, culminating at Masjid Bilal Boarding School. Coordinated by the Soninkes Scholars’ League, the event highlighted the exceptional talent of young Huffaz (memorizers) and underscored the significance of supporting Qur’anic education.

Prominent figures, including team leader Lamin Jagana, commended Mr. Jawara for his dedication to Islam and significant contributions to Gambian society. This initiative showcased the country’s rising prominence in Qur’anic studies on the global stage. With a total prize pool of D1 million, the competition seeks to inspire young Qur’anic reciters and promote Islamic education, attracting hundreds of participants and emphasizing the importance of supporting religious education in the nation.

Jawara’s efforts have been celebrated by religious leaders and officials, including the President of the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council, who highlighted the positive impact of such initiatives on the development of Islam. CEO Abubakary Jawara reaffirmed his commitment to giving back to the community and continuing his family’s legacy of supporting Islam and assisting those in need.
