A political turmoil in Gambia arose following the dismissal of Auditor General Modou Ceesay, leading to protests by activists Kemo Fatty, Alieu Bah, Momodou Camara, and Omar Sambo Camara, who were arrested on September 15, 2025, for unlawful assembly.
Ceesay rejected a government minister position, prompting a cabinet reshuffle by President Adama Barrow. During a court session on September 17, bail was contested by law enforcement with conditions for future demonstrations, but Magistrate Isatou Sallah-Mbye granted bail at 50,000 dalasis each.
The hearing was postponed to September 21, 2025, for further proceedings.
