Migration has driven the European Union’s population to a record 450.4 million, as the bloc has experienced more deaths than births since 2012.
In 2024, the EU welcomed 1.07 million new residents, resulting in a positive net migration of 2.3 million people, despite a natural decline of 1.3 million.
