The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE), in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy (MoCDE) and the World Bank, conducted a validation workshop focused on e-commerce policy and strategy on September 25, 2025.

Key participants included PS Mod Secka and the WARDIP project coordinator. Deputy Permanent Secretary Jammeh led discussions on the document’s potential to drive economic transformation, highlighting the necessity of supporting businesses, particularly those led by women and young people.

A draft version of the e-commerce policy was shared, followed by a question-and-answer session and feedback from attendees. The workshop ended with comments from Ousman Bojang, the Director of Trade at MOTIE.
