 In a significant initiative to enhance healthcare services for children, Cornerstone Group has officially inaugurated a cutting-edge pediatric ward at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH). This development marks a pivotal advancement in the healthcare landscape of The Gambia.

The renovation has garnered accolades from health officials and community leaders, reflecting the company’s dedication to improving the lives of Gambians through active engagement in the health sector.

The newly established Pediatric Surgical Unit, equipped with 25 standard hospital beds and a designated play area, fosters a healing environment for young patients while providing vital support to healthcare professionals in their efforts.

During the inauguration ceremony, Health Minister Dr. Ahmadou Lamin Samateh underscored the essential role of health services in national development and praised Cornerstone Group for its contributions to the government’s healthcare initiatives.

Alagie Sanyang, CEO of Cornerstone Group, conveyed his commitment to the project, stating, “This endeavor would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my team.” He emphasized the significance of community involvement in tackling health challenges and encouraged other local businesses to increase their contributions to national development.

The event, which brought together government officials, healthcare professionals, and community members, highlighted the collaborative spirit essential for advancing health services in the Gambia.

Health officials expressed their appreciation for the renovations, believing they will significantly enhance the quality of care available to pediatric patients.

Oley Faal, executive director of Cornerstone Group, shared her motivation for the project and underscored the company’s commitment to giving back to the community.

She reaffirmed the importance of supporting the health sector, particularly for children, whose well-being is vital for the nation’s future.
