Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to approve an additional 6.2 trillion naira ($4 billion) in spending to cover budget shortfalls, proposing a windfall tax on banks’ foreign exchange profits to fund infrastructure, education, healthcare, and welfare, while also addressing economic challenges with a new stimulus plan.

Collins Jumaisi Khalusha appeared in a Kenyan court accused of killing and dismembering ten women, with police granted 30 days to detain him for further investigation, following the discovery of multiple bodies in a quarry near his home and his confession to killing 42 women since 2022.
